Here at Millennium Honda, drivers can find our new Honda lineup fully loaded with technology features, designed to entertain, and keep us safe. When it comes to safety, there is Honda Sensing Technology, which will give drivers in Hempstead, more confidence on the road, as this technology watches your back.

Honda Sensing is a suite of driver-assistance technologies that help you sense things you may miss while driving, and in some cases, can help you avoid a collision or mitigate its severity. Each one of these features plays a role. Many of them we are sure you’ve heard about before, but you want to know what they do, right? Well, that’s why we invited Larry Printz, Editor-In-Chief, Automotive at Dealer.com, to help us explain. Read his complete review of Honda Sensing posted on our website or brows the highlighted items below.

Honda Sensing Technology Features

Lane Departure Warning – this technology is able to detect when you veer outside of your lane. When you do, an alert will flash and sound to bring attention to it, so you can make sure you are back within the driving lanes.

Lane Keeping Assist System – similar to lane departure, Lane Keeping Assist System helps you stay in the middle of the driving lanes for a smooth and centered ride. If it senses you are veering in a certain direction without having your directional on, the steering unit adjusts to keep you centered.

Road Departure Mitigation – if your Honda is going too close to the side of the road while driving between 45 and 90 miles per hour without a turn signal, this feature alerts you with rapid vibrations on the steering wheel. If you keep leaving the road, it can also apply steering torque and braking to help keep you in your lane.

Adaptive Cruise Control – this feature helps you set your Honda to a distance interval, so it always keeps a safe amount of space between you and the car in front of you, without having to adjust your speed manually.

Forward Collision Warning – with Forward Collision Warning, there is a small camera mounted on the top of the front windshield which monitors the vehicles in front of you. If it determines that you are at risk of a collision, it activates audio and visual alerts to warn you. If you don’t act it will apply brake pressure, too.

Collision Mitigation Braking System – similar to Forward Collision Warning, this uses a wave radar sensors and can bring your Honda to a full stop if it determines a collision with a vehicle is unavoidable. It will sound warnings, and apply the brake pressure if needed.

Honda Sensing is available on models like the Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, and Pilot. If you want to see first-hand how it all works, feel free to contact us here at Millennium Honda in Hempstead, NY and we’d be happy to answer any of your questions and arrange test drives today.
