The 2019 Honda Insight Debuts at the New York International Auto Show
Honda made the global announcement of the all-new 2019 Insight at the New York International Auto Show. The new Insight is a two-motor hybrid system, utilizing both an efficient gasoline engine and a powerful electric motor. This is the third generation of Honda’s hybrid system, and it promises to have enhanced acceleration due to horsepower and torque improvements.
Available interior features, standard on higher trims, include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an 8-inch infotainment system, HondaLink, a 450-watt premium audio system, and mobile hotspot. There is a 7-inch TFT digital driver’s screen, push button start, and Bluetooth. The Insight features variable drive modes of Econ, Sport, and Electric Vehicle (EV) to allow the driver to choose between efficiency and performance. The roomy cabin has seating for five, and the 15 cubic feet of trunk can be expanded using the available 60/40 split rear seat.
The exterior of the 2019 Insight is sleek with a sweeping roofline and aerodynamic lines. LED headlights with auto on/off are standard. Honda’s Sensing® is standard, offering safety and driver assistance features including collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, and traffic sign recognition.
Millennium Honda expects to get the new 2019 Insight beginning later in 2018. The model is expected to fit nicely in the niche between the Civic and Accord lines, offering customers a great new hybrid sedan. It will be offered in three trims; LX, EX, and Touring.
