The new model will kick start the second generation of HR-V, featuring a tweaked engine that provides more horsepower and torque. The HR-V will offer wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with wireless on the EX-L trim. Drivers will enjoy the sizeable cargo area and premium cabin.

Performance
The new Honda HR-V is equipped with a gas-powered 158-hp 2L four-cylinder engine that churns out 138 pound-feet of torque. The new HR-V shares the same engine as the Civic, while the European model offers a hybrid powertrain. Front-wheel drive is standard, along with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Drivers can opt for the available all-wheel drive. The CVT is refined while simulating gear shifts smoothly and feels more responsive. Acceleration for the new HR-V is decent, with the SUV reaching 60 mph in about 10 seconds. The brakes on the HR-V have strong stopping power, delivering excellent driving dynamics.
The new HR-V has decent gas mileage returning 32 mpg on the highway, which is acceptable for its class. The all-wheel drive has slightly lower numbers, with 30 mpg on the highway.

Design
The exterior of the new Honda HR-V features a captivating new style with elevated finishing touches. The front of the HR-V has a prominent honeycomb grille that grabs attention on the road. The new HRV features LED lighting with striking LED headlights and brake lights that improve aesthetics and functionality. The HR-V comes with standard 17-inch alloy wheels, but drivers can opt for the available 18-inch wheels. The rear has a spoiler that complements the available rear privacy glass. The Sport trim has unique styling elements featuring a gloss-black grille, wheels, and a matte-black bumper.

There are various high-tech features in the new HRV, including a standard 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a touchscreen that is easy to see and has quick responses. Interior
The interior of the new HRV offers an elegant dashboard with a modern design that is classic and sophisticated. The base trim has cloth upholstery and single-zone automatic climate control. Higher trim levels have leather-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and a leather steering wheel giving a more upscale look. The front seats are manually adjustable, and the steering wheel has easy-to-use controls. The EX-L trim has body-stabilizing seats that improve comfort on long drives by offering lumbar and side support.
You can store plenty of items on the cargo hold which you can increase by folding the rear seats bringing the total space to 55.1 cubic feet. The HR-V has a seating capacity for five people and offers comfy and nicely cushioned front seats. Occupants can enjoy plenty of legroom and headroom thanks to the longer wheelbase of the new Honda HRV. The Sport trim is the mid-level trim and features heated front seats, a chrome exhaust tip, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated mirrors with black-painted caps. The shift knob is also wrapped in leather for a more premium feel. It also features orange accent stitching, sport badging, a unique grille, a six-speaker stereo, and 18-inch gloss black wheels with wider tires. The Sport trim adds various tech features such as remote engine start, keyless entry, and blind spot monitoring.
The top-of-the-line trim is the EX-L trim which offers leather upholstery and gains a power-adjustable driver's seat. You can easily distinguish this model by its moonroof and the parking sensors on the bumpers. The interior gets upgraded ambient lighting, an eight-speaker stereo, and a 9-inch touch screen. It also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, HD radio, and SiriusXM.
